Another Devil’s Pact unravels: It was Adrian Delia who led Alex Borg to believe he would be backed for a leadership bid

Sources in the Nationalist Party have told The Maltese Herald that it was actually Adrian Delia who committed to support Alex Borg’s leadership bid and that the surprise between them was actually Adrian Delia’s leadership bid. Adrian Delia had been supporting a prospective leadership bid by Alex Borg since early Summer of last year, during which time he was also demanding for Bernard Grech to resign due to his dismal poll numbers.

Since Summer of last year, the Labour Party has extensively renewed its media support for Adrian Delia and Alex Borg even defended a controversial public-lease development project at Fort Chambray. Labour Party sources had also informed The Maltese Herald that Alex Borg and Adrian Delia have been leaking stories about the PN and Bernard Grech to the Labour Party media since last year.

Alex Borg is the only candidate that has so far submitted his bid for the leadership of the party with Adrian Delia’s camp urging him reconsider.
