The collapse of the Axis of Resistance

Israel and the Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu have given the impression that they want to end the Iranian Islamic regime with their ongoing campaign against Iran. Israel has not only struck Iran’s nuclear sites in Isfahan and Natanz, it has also eliminated Iran’s top military’ command conducted more than 200 airstrikes against Iranian military facilities, and won the battle over the Iranian skies in a couple of days. While Iran retaliated with ballistic missiles against Israel, the Israeli Premier appealed to Iranians to rise up against their regime.

President Trump has shown considerable indecisiveness on how to react to Israel’s massive attack on Iran. His supposed ally and friend, Bibi Netanyahu caught him off guard and nearly dragged him into a war he did not plan as he urged him to get involved and strike the Iranian regime until it collapses. It was probably the first time that many of his MAGA and Republican Party members disagreed with him publicly since he was elected as Trump embraced the prospect of joining a foreign war. After all, Trump promised he was going to bring peace to the world.

Trump is even embarrassing himself with his own cabinet picks, as his self-interested foreign policy runs like a headless chicken, clashing with the views of his own cabinet members. Not all of his cabinet members want to do Bibi a favour and join his war against Iran. Some, like the Director of National Intelligence, the Russian asset Tulsi Gabbard, is even very appeasing to the Supreme Leader of Iran.

Iran’s nuclear site at the underground Fordow site seems to be still intact. It’s civilian plant in Bushehr was not targeted. Iran can even probably create weapon-grade nuclear material thanks to its capabilities at the Fordow site. On the other hand, Iran’s capability of threatening Israel by military means seems to have been diluted considerably as Iran’s retaliation proved largely ineffective except for some symbolic targets – also thanks to the US, the UK and Jordan who helped intercept the ballistic missiles themselves.

Iran is also unable to threaten Israel from the ground. Israel has successfully defeated Iran’s proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah, and as a result prompting its militias to withdraw from Syria. The withdrawal of the pro-Iranian militias from Syria, enabled (then) Jolani’s forces to swiftly move out of Idlib and defeat Assad’s tatters of an army.

Now, Iran’s missile-launching capabilities have been diluted, its skies are controlled by Israel and Iranian officials who plot and conspire against Israel from Iran are no longer safe. The Axis of Resistance has literally to go underground to survive, yet, this is a defeat of significant proportions. The Axis of Resistance previously projected itself as capable of wielding as much power as a regional power: now, this power has been burnt into ashes and the only thing that can preserve it is the thick rock of the mountains that hide deep inside them military and nuclear sites.

The outcome is very clear: the Axis of Resistance is no longer a regional power. Israel controls the skies in the Near East and effectively has regional-military dominance and superiority. A nuclear weapon is not going to change this scenario, and this fact alone should be enough to reduce Israel’s pretense of attacking Iran over nuclear weapons into insignificance.

The Zionist regime has been the main cause of tension in the Middle East every since they imposed themselves there decades ago.

Israel suffers from small man syndrome. Look at Bibi, Prime Minister of a tiny state simultaneously attacking Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iran ….. all illegally of course.

Take away the massive support they get from the United States and they have nothing. Just a little illegitimate state.

  2. Whilst Israel has brought the world’s attention onto Iran, it has also stepped up its onslaught on civilians in Gaza queuing desperately for food. The recognition of Palestine as a state has also been side-lined by the West.

By the time the distraction is over, there will be very much less of Palestine to save, which would be part of the game plan.

In 1979 Iran was a cosmopolitan country; USA deposed the Shah, paving the way for the Ayatollahs. They are now pushing the agenda of the return of the Shah’s son as a puppet figurehead, hoping this will entice the population.

In the meantime, we should not forget that in 2003 Iraq was bombed bu US after Israeli intel of WMD and allegations of “imminent attack”. The WMD turned out not to exist. This is a ploy that Israel uses to weaken countries it doesn’t like. USA also stands to gain. In 2003 Bechtel signed contracts for the rebuilding of Baghdad before the first bomb was dropped. Riley Bechtel is now worth over US$ 13.4 B ; Bechtel doesn’t pay much tax, but is a major campaign doner.

USA stands to gain through US owned global corporations swooping in (again) to rebuild what has been bombed, and forcing Iran to sell off oil cheaply to the US to pay for the rebuilding.

    It’s as cynical as that.

“Kelsey Davenport, director for non-proliferation policy at the US-based Arms Control Association, said Israel’s prime minister “did not present any clear or compelling evidence that Iran was on the brink of weaponizing”.

“This March, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard told Congress that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was “at its highest levels” and “unprecedented for a state without nuclear weapons”.

But she also said the US intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader [Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei has not authorised the nuclear weapons programme that he suspended in 2003”.
