The historical career arc of Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa is one to be studied carefully: from working under the wing of previous Police Commissioner John Rizzo hunting down dangerous criminals, to protecting and covering up Malta’s political mafia, Gafa’s career has made incredible turns.
The ongoing protection and cover-up of Rosianne Cutajar by Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa should not be seen as an isolated incident meant merely to appease the Prime Minister โ this is true be true, but it is also true that Commissioner Gafa is protecting and covering up for Rosianne Cutajar because she is part of a wider criminal conspiracy and organised group whose members are even more important to him than Rosianne Cutajar herself. Rosianne Cutajar is just the weakest link: a pawn that was used by the criminal group to extend their interests with various individuals using her in different ways. She got her own cut as part of her wheeling and dealing and she sought to cover it up by bullying a journalist through a Court. When that failed, Rosianne Cutajar called for the help of the Attorney-General and the Police intervened in her defence. A Judge that was previously the Deputy-Party Leader of the Labour Party refused to look at the evidence of her crimes that were presented in front of him and accused the journalist of terrorism.
The collective of cover-up of Rosianne Cutajar’s crimes is not about Rosianne Cutasjar but it is more about protecting the organised criminal group heralded by Joseph Muscat: all of his criminal associates are tied with one other owing to the deals and links they made between during Joseph Muscat’s administration under his patronage. No one in the Labour Party respects Rosianne Cutajar and those who also cover-up and protect her joke and satirise her in their discourse with the same satire that we have produced along the years. The cover-up of Rosianne Cutajar is mainly for Joseph Muscat and perhaps also for other influential figures.
Yorgen Fenech never had all of his assets fully seized and the long delays of his trial has enabled him to be free. He also got preferential treatment in prison and now we also know that Yorgen Fenech is back at doing business once again. This was expected- Yorgen Fenech even did business while he was still in prison, also thanks to the prison authorities. There is an incredible series of coincidental consistencies in how Joseph Muscat and his criminal associates have been protected. Today, We are under a bizarre regime and state of affairs where the accused murderer of a journalist is back at doing and discussing big business deals under bail while his previous criminal associates in politics are being fully covered up.
The situation with regard to rule-of-law is only getting worse and this will be the Police Commissioner’s biggest mark of his career: not his investigation of Michael tal-Bลผar, which eventually also fizzled out, but the cover-up of Joseph Muscat’s criminal group.
