Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo is now under police investigation

Yesterday, I confirmed that the incumbent Minister for Tourism, Clayton Bartolo, is under active police investigation. The police have already acted on Repubblika’s report, and the investigation concerns the fraudulent public contract awarded to his wife.

I could not confirm whether the Minister for Gozo and Planning, Clint Camilleri, who facilitated the contract to Amanda Muscat through his ministry, is also under investigation. However, if Clayton Bartolo is being investigated, it seems likely that the police will eventually investigate Clint Camilleri as well.

If Clayton Bartolo does not resign, this would probably be the first time that a sitting-Minister is being actively investigated by the Police.
