Breaking: Clayton Bartolo is expected to be charged in Court in the coming months

Former Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo will be charged in court for misappropriation of public funds in the coming months. Court documents are being prepared  after the police started an investigation over the case involving the Tourism Minister awarding a fraudulent job to his wife, Amanda Muscat. It has not yet been confirmed yet whether Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri is also being investigated by the Police. Repubblika and Jason Azzopardi filed a police report against the Ministers last month prompting the police to take action.

Amanda Muscat worked at the Ministry of Tourism before she was transferred to Ministry of Gozo and Planning where was promoted as a consultant to the Minister. The contract and the Ministers involved were condemned by the Commissioner for Standards in Public Life and the Parliamentary Standards Committee. Amanda Muscat is also being investigated over a €50,000 bribe she took from an MTA client that was related to work she did while at the Ministry of Tourism.

This is a developing story.
