In his end of year message, China’s President Xi Jinping reiterates that China’s reunification with Taiwan is “inevitable”

In his end-of-year message, Chinese President Xi Jinping repeated the same message from his previous year’s address, stating once again that China’s reunification with Taiwan is inevitable.

Throughout this year, China harassed Taiwan with increasing escalatory grey zone tactics by surrounding the island with ships and warplanes on a mass scale. The US State Department warned China of potential escalation while Japan has warned about China’s increasing capabilities for invading Taiwan. Incoming President Donald Trump did not commit to protecting Taiwan against a potential invasion by China when asked about the scenario.

In 2024 Xi Jpinging also appointed a warmongering and hawkish propogandist as the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs.
