The owner of MaltaToday and Illum, Saviour Balzan is using his press outlets to conduct a very aggressive disinformation campaign against us following our success in tapping public funds. The aggressive and intimidating campaign comes after we won a Constitutional case in Court that found the government to be discriminating against us.
Our legal case has enabled us to start breaking barriers imposed in us unfairly, and personally I am finally able to do my job after fours of discrimination.
Saviour Balzan is rewriting old articles in anger following our legal successes and we already replied to many of his lies which he is recycling and republishing consecutively every Sunday in his newspapers. Below you may find a list of articles that detail extensively the corruption and lies of Saviour Balzan.
MaltaToday and Illum are fully government funded newspapers and Saiour Balzan is known to use his press as a tool to attack government critics. Saiour Balzan also fully earns his income from government contracts.
Saviout Balzan conspired and aided Yorgen Fenech whilst Fenech was being investigated and Fenech paid Balzan in advertising for his media companies. Keith Schembri was also a shareholder of the newspaper Illum. Saviour Balzan has been caught lying multiple of times. Saviour Balzan actively works to disseminate and produce propaganda for the Labour government in exchange of government contracts. He also conspried with Keith Schembri and even BBQed and partied with him until the day that Keith Schembri was forced to resign in the 2019 national crisis.
Dar Camilleri which publishes The Maltese Herald is a startup with three employees. We find ourselves at a considerable disadvantage as a major press outlet conducts a regular bullying and disinformation campaign against us.
However, we assure our readers, clients, and subscribers that we will not be moved by these threats, bullying and constant attacks via disinformation. We will take the honourable path of avoiding any conspiracies and any petty rebuttals.
Instead, we will focus on our work, which we believe holds great value for Maltese society and even beyond. We will continue to prove and distinguish ourselves through the quality of our work.
As we face overwhelming odds against us, especially by a competitor that is much bigger and resourceful than us, we will do the right thing by continuing to thread our path professionally and with a basic human respect towards our adversaries. We are confident that we are on the right track and we will not be moved by threats and bullying by organised criminals.
