President Trump gives Russia a new deadline of up to 12 days or face new sanctions

During a meeting in Scotland, while hosting British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his Turnberry golf resort in Ayrshire, President Donald Trump announced a new deadline pf 12 days for Russia to come to the negotiating table and negotiate peace with Ukraine. Trump’s ultimatum comes with a threat to impose new sanctions on Russia if it is not respected. These sanctions include a new bill proposed by Lindsey Graham that would sanction countries that purchase Russian oil.

Earlier this month, President Trump gave Russia 50 days to come back to the negotiating table with concrete peace proposals and resumed weapons shipments and sales to Ukraine after he felt that President Vladimir Putin was wasting his time time with him in their talks between them. President Trump said that his wife, Melania, used to inform him that Putin had just bombed a Ukrainian city while he was speaking to him on the phone.

Previous Russian President and Prime Ministry Dimitry Medvedev said that each of President Trump’s ultimatums is a step closer to war.

Drone and missile strikes on Ukrainian cities continue daily, with Russia launching up to 330 drones and missiles just yesterday alone.

President arrived in Scotland at his golf resort last weekend where he hosted EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to finalise the EU-US trade deal. Yesterday, President Trump hosted British Prime Minister and discussed with him a wide rang of issues includingย  trade Russia Gaza and tariff exemptions on Scottish whiskey.
