NATO refuses to acknowledge Russian attack on Poland: EU issues a stronger response

NATO has issued a very weak statement in response to Russia’s attack on Poland that took place yesterday. NATO is refusing to publicly acknowledged that Russia deliberately attack Poland but admitted that Polish airspace was violated. You can read NATO’s full statement here.

On the other hand, the EU issued a much stronger response and condemned what it described as the intentional violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones. Russian drones deliberately entered and targeted Poland with up to ten drones shot down by Polish and NATO air forces. You can read the full statement by the EU here.

Both the EU and NATO stated that support for Ukraine will continue but the EU also stated it will support Poland to protect its border.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosล‚aw Sikorski said that the Russian drones entered Poland deliberately and said that anyone spreading the lie that the drones came from Ukraine is spreading Russian propaganda. The Polish Foreign Minister also announced that Poland has activated NATO’s Article 4 which provides for joint consultation with NATO allies whenever its security, borders or political independence are threatened.
