First photo of Kamran Agayev emerges in the Azeri press: Alkagesta investigated by Azeri authorities over Russian oil trading

A photo of Kamran Agayev was published for the first time by a major Azeri press outlet called Musavat. Kamran Agayev is the majority shareholder of Alkagesta but is fronting his cousin Adnan Ahmadzada who has been arrested in Azerbaijan over illegal and fraudulent Russian oil-sales. Musavat also published their own investigation on the sprawling case of Adnan Ahmadzada and made some new revelations.

According to Musavat. the authorities in Azerbaijan are investigating all of Adnan Ahmadzada’s companies including Alkagesta which is Malta’s largest oil cargo trader and rents most of the oil silos in Birลผebbuฤกa. The Azeri authorities are also investigating Caspain Oil and Gas (also registered in Malta) and Oilmar which is registered in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Musavat has also revealed that the Azeri authorities are investigating Adnan Ahmadzada’s connections with Russian oil and petrochemical companies Tatneft and Sibur. Other investigations include Alkagesta’s involvement in trafficking Libyan oil and a large oil sale by Alkagesta in Albania involving Russian oil. The investigations by the authorities in Azerbaijan are part of a wide and public push to clamp down on Russian oil trading.

Alkagesta is also being investigated by the Maltese authoritiesย and the UK and EU authorities.
