Crime and politics are the most popular topics among our local readers, with stories about the Labour Party ranking among the most widely read political stories by our local audience. These were our most popular local stories of 2025.
Our most read local story was the story about Sina Bugeja who kept the blunder or issue about the Binance donation to the Malta Community Chest Fund, secret, leading to the President herself giving an explanation to the press about technical and administrative matters which are below her dignity. We explained how this situation was ultimately the result of the incompetence of those who led the MCCF and who had a responsibility to publicly explain their actions before putting the responsibility of the issue to the President. The donation was never recovered.
