There is no grand strategy for peace: Trump wants Ukraine to capitulate and Russia to win

Ever since President Donald Trump was inaugurated into office on January 20th he has done exactly what he promised on Ukraine by pressuring it to capitulate, cede its lost territories to Russia. President Trump’s pressure on Ukraine to capitulate, isn’t driven by a grand strategy for peace and a stable world-order, but rather just one aspect of his new foreign policy alignment in favour of Russia and against liberal-democratic Europe – this position has been welcomed by President Vladimir Putin.

Additionally, President Trump is taking actions he never promised during his election campaign, such as the resurrection of traditional imperialism with his demands to annex Canada, Greenland and Gaza: demands that go against the established international rules-based order. His foreign policy now differs from that of his first term in office. This time round he doesn’t have independent state institutions like the FBI which offset his abuse of power by clamping down on corrupt and treasonous beaviour with foreign states, and there’s no Bob Mueller to keep criminals in check. Last year, Donald Trump openly held discussions with Russian officials during his campaign trail. We don’t know what he promised to the Russians, nor do we know what they will give him in return, but today, we know very well, that he is basically giving them everything they ask for.

President Trump wants Ukraine to lose the war and is neither interested in peace nor in global security. His latest order to halt US military aid to Ukraine is nonsensical and vile, because most of this military aid included anti-air defenses which were meant to be used against Russians drones and missiles that target cities and civilian targets on a daily basis. President Trump also halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine and even this was a practice mostly focused on defensive operations rather than offensive ones. The minerals rights deal that President Trump wants to extort from Ukraine, on the false pretenses that the US gave $300 billion to Ukraine (it’s actually $119 billion and the figure is lower in real and market terms), yet this minerals rights deal is purely transactional and does not come with any security guarantees. Any potential and future US properties and rights in Ukraine may even be secured and guaranteed by Russia itself.

President Trump has no grand strategy for peace. His rhetoric and bluster about being a strong man for peace is just theatre and cover for the reality on the ground and his actual actions. One should simply ignore whatever he says and just pay attention to his actions. The result of President Trump’s actions are helping Russia in its war against Ukraine. Currently, Ukraine is pushing back against the Russians in multiple areas including Pokrovsk and Toretsk. The Russian economy was at the brink before President Trump came to office, but Western capital is now slowly flowing into Russian assets again through major US bankers such Goldman Sachs in anticipation of sanctions relief. This is why there is now a renewed propaganda campaign to convince people that Ukraine can’t win this war: Ukraine is making significant advances and these may be lost by President Trump’s new actions. Ukraine successfully decimated the Russian Army and sanctions brought the Russian economy to its knees. The more pressure the West applied on Russia and the more weapons it provided to Ukraine, the greater Ukraine’s chances of winning. The Ukrainians are determined to achieve victory, and their success is directly tied to the level of support we provide them against their much larger and more resourceful invader.

Peace on President Trump’s terms means Ukraine’s capitulation and its loss of sovereignty. It would also mean that Europe will be increasingly exposed to Russia’s totalitarianism and military threats. Those clamouring for peace in self-righteous indignation are the actual warmongers who want us to live in a world where dictators with nukes will determine our democracies and our sovereignty. This is exactly what President Trump wants. This is not just “an issue” about Ukraine and Russia – Ukraine is just one of the many items that imperial Russia intends to capture along with its supremacy over Europe, its states and institutions. This is not the era of Bill Clinton-champagne-caviar-diplomacy. Hardcore imperialism is back and is being used directly against Europe both by the United States and Russia. Ignoring this brutal fact by being a self-righteous “peace” advocate is the equivalent of being Russia’s useful idiot.

If you mute President Trump’s words completely and just look at his actions you will see the President of the United States President allying with Russia to wage a war against liberal-democratic Europe and its allies. President Trump has unofficially joined the Axis of Evil and some of his cronies like Secretary of State Marco Rubio are yet, too afraid to admit this, so they are rationalising his policies by lying and vilifying the oppressed Ukrainians. It is in President Trump’s own self-interest to wage a war against liberal-democratic Europe because this is part of his war against rule-of-law and the same type of liberal-democratic system that could have put him in jail for his multiple crimes and felonies. Europe is now at war against Russia and President Trump to conserve the sovereignty of its nations and its democratic institutions.

The international policy experts and the “geopoliticistas” are still trying very hard to understand President Trump’s actions whilst writing rational thesis about his criminal and treasonous behaviour as if he was a textbook political character with a complex plan. The sooner we realise that we are simply dealing with the most powerful and cunning criminal in the world, the faster will we find the appropriate solutions to mitigate the chaos and destruction he seeks to spread all over the world for the sake to enrich himself and his family. Not even Richard Nixon was this crooked and evil.
