Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa is currently pretending to be conducting an investigation on Robert Aquilina for leaking the details of the Pilatus Bank Magisterial Inquiry. Supposedly, the Police Commissioner will discover from this investigation those who were responsible in leaking the documents and information to Robert Aquilina .
The investigation was ordered by the Magistrate Nadine Lia, who was previously married to the son of Joseph Muscat’s lawyer.
The Maltese Herald can confirm that the ongoing investigation is a travesty and a complete farce, as the Police Commissioner is already aware of the individuals who leaked the Pilatus Bank material to Robert Aquilina. These whistleblowers were ultimately dismissed from the police force, and one of them was even given a government job to ensure his silence about the affair. The Prime Minister also knows who are the leakers because Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa informed the Prime Minister about them and asked him for guidance.
Upon being informed of who were the individuals who leaked the Pilatus Bank material, the Prime Minister supported the Police Commissioner to fire these individuals but also proposed an alternative government employment for them so as not to hurt them financially.
The ongoing and current investigation on Robert Aquilina about the Pilatus Bank leaks is a total travesty, a total waste of time and an insult to the general public. The Police Commissioner thinks that he can play games and take the public for a ride because police information is confidential and only he has access to it. Gafa is trying to manipulate the general public with his handling and (mishandling) of information.
Robert Aquilina is currently being subjected to a systematic campaign of persecution following allegations made against him by his wife of domestic violence.
