Libyan National Army sends military trucks to the Rapid Support Forces: logistical activity at Matan as Sarra airport spotted

The Libyan National Army, led by Benghazi’s rump dictator Khalifa Haftar, who effectively rules eastern Libya, has been sending military trucks to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces in preparation for a major fight in Al-Fashir. Al-Fashir has been one of the few remaining cities that resisted the RSF’s onslaught in north-western Sudan.

The RSF are supplied and financed by the United Arab Emirates and the Libyan National Army is also allied with the UAE. The LNA has been supporting the RSF by supplying it with troops and weapons.

Heavy logistical activity has been spotted at the previously disused Matan as-Sarra airport in the south-east of Libya with suspicions being raised that Russian military equipment is being moved to the location.

The RSF have faced a series of losses against the Sudanese Armed Forces in various across Sudan, and are now putting their attention in the north-west of Sudan where they have a stronger presence.
