Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera: not just a Labour Party supporter, but also an active socialite

Those who are enamored with the idea of a Dictatorship of the Proletariat by the Labour Party are defending the Prime Minister’s proposal to install Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera as Chief Justice. One of their arguments is that she is being unjustly attacked just for coming from the Labour Party tribe.

The brother of Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera, Jose Herrera, was a Labour government minister and they come from a Labour Party background. One of her sons was recently appointed ambassador.

However those who are making this argument are being blatantly dishonest and disingenuous. Consuelo Scerri Herrera should have never been made Judge in the first place after having behaved as a socialite while serving in her Judicial role. Daphne Caruana Galizia reported about this here.

Consuelo Scerri Herrera may have toned down her rabid parties once she was appointed Judge but she never gave up her socialite life and kept engaging in improper communications, potentially pushing the Labour Party’s interests in backhanded deals and conversations in her role as a Judge. For starters, she has been in communication with Edward Gatt who lawyered for criminals like Keith Schembri, she kept enjoying nightlife and parties still as a Judge, and attended a party for Labour Party insiders at Joseph Camenzuli’s villa in Birżebbuġa along with Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech in 2017.

The problem with Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera isn’t just because she a Labour Party bias – it’s because she is still embedded in the political society of the Labour Party. Her position as a Judge is already untenable as it is and Labour with her appointment Labour will be dragging down standards of the Judiciary even further.  The local press should investigate her rather than supporting her to fill the Prime Minister’s gap to complete his dictatorship.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is distracting people over the dangerous prospect of turning Malta into his personal dictatorship by throwing the Donald Trump “Board of Peace” board as a bone to the “expert” opinionists. Those who are taking the bait in this self-virtuous theatre of absurdity are either opportunistic goons or naïve fools. Some people still haven’t learnt that Labour has been persistently using foreign policy as a distraction to tighten its grip over the state.

What matters right now is to prevent the Labour Party from capturing the top post of the Judiciary: if this happens, the Labour Party would have taken absolute control over the Justice system after having already captured the Office of the Attorney-General and the Police. We are at a serious risk of becoming a dictatorship in which our rights and freedoms are no longer guaranteed. Justice will fully turn into an electoral tool for the Labour Party. There will never be accountability for serious crimes by Labour Party politicians – ever.

The Opposition has so far refused the appointment but it needs to do so more assertively. The Labour Party is obviously manipulating this debate and will be forcing its way to install its puppet as Chief Justice.

Is this what your bed fellow Jason inspired you to write on your own free will? As a renowned independent minded journalist, may I have the temerity to point out that maybe, just maybe, you inadvertently forgot to mention that a true honest, upright, and impeachable Madam Justice who ought to be Chief Justice is Gabriella Vella.
I am willing to wager a monkey’s pisspot that Alex is waiting for Jason’s recommendation.
